Former President Donald Trump involved in hush money payments - Grand jury, New York .

A New York terrific jury casted a ballot Thursday to prosecute previous President Donald Trump regarding a $130,000 quiet cash installment to pornography star Turbulent Daniels in front of the 2016 political race, his legal counselor told CNBC.

NBC News was informed by Trump's attorney Joe Tacopina that the Manhattan District Attorney's office anticipates Trump surrendering early next week.

The fact that Trump is the first former president to be charged with a crime will have repercussions across the nation. The prosecution comes as he is the main competitor looking for the 2024 conservative official designation.

The indictment was confirmed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office on Thursday evening.

“To coordinate Mr. Trump's surrender to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office for arraignment on a Supreme Court indictment that remains sealed, we contacted Mr. Trump's attorney this evening. A spokesperson for Bragg's office stated, "When the arraignment date is selected, guidance will be provided."

Trump's charges in the indictment were not made public on Thursday. In addition, it was unknown whether the indictment only covered activities connected to the payment to Daniels or whether it also covered activities related to a separate hush money payment that the publisher of The National Enquirer made to Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model.

Trump called the decision "Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history" and slammed it. He had written on Wednesday that he had "gained such respect for this grand jury" in a post on social media.
